PE2_iMovie

Sound has always been a part of iMovie that I have struggled with. In the audio section of Lynda.com I learned some techniques that I previously was unaware of. I had always pulled my background into the video underneath the video clips, during this training i discovered how to place the music in the background. The other thing I learned in this section was how to to use ducking when trying to the sound of the music when someone is trying to talk.

The Lynda.com videos have proven to be very useful in my quest to learn more about iMovie. I have used to record my voice over then import it into iMovie. Now, after watching the videos I can do my voice over in iMovie and edit it as well.

One area that I had been leery of in iMovie was the precision editor. The word precision kind of scared me a little. after watching the video I now understand what it actually does. I can extend the previous audio or video into the next or previous clip which gives me more versatility in the creation of my video.

Working with the beat marker showed to be a little challenging. Even though I love music my idea of beat would drive most musicians crazy. After working with for a little while it became easier to do, I think I am going to have fun working with all of the music and sound effect techniques that I have learned. Come back soon to see what I learn in the last few chapters and the final product of a video.
